Now Partnering with Drakes Supermarkets

You can now support wellbeing care for students, in Fleurieu South Coast State Schools, while you shop at Drakes.

Drakes finds nothing more rewarding than making a difference in the communities they operate in, and their Community Dollars Program is one way they regularly give back through local groups that operate in our communities, including ours on the Fleurieu south coast

South Coast Schools Ministry has a long relationship with Drakes, who supply, among other things, the delicious sausages we use for our BBQ fundraisers. So when they suggested we register as a charity supported through the Community Dollars Program we jumped at the chance

Now for every $2 you spend at Drakes you can have 1c accredited to us – supporting the wellbeing of our state schools students on the Fleurieu south coast.   While that may sound small it quickly adds up meaning Drakes have donated over $17 million dollars, since January 2016 to participating not-for-profit organisations in their local communities.  These now include us

There are two ways you can support us with your Drakes Community Dollars:

  1. Download the myDrakes App, link to South Coast Schools Ministry Support Group and scan when you shop
  2. Download the Drakes – SCSMSG card (PDF 164kb) and scan when you shop

Goolwa Secondary College

Nginti nankeri (Hello), my name is Midi Bettcher, and I am honoured to introduce myself as the new Pastoral Care Worker at Goolwa Secondary College. Although this role is new for me, I am not new to the school—I have been part of Goolwa Secondary College since it first opened. Over the years, I have come to deeply love and appreciate the school’s culture, students, staff and leadership team, and I am grateful for the opportunity to support our community in a different way.

My passion for helping young people is grounded in my Christian faith, which guides me to show compassion, understanding, and genuine care. I believe every student has unique value, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space where they feel heard and encouraged.

I look forward to continuing my journey with this wonderful school and serving our community with kindness, integrity, and care.
